The F-4 Phantom II has filled
many roles and made itself a place in history. It is one of the most
well known aircraft flown by the USAF and it's many allies.
This new
1/72 decal sheet (also available in 1/48) from Model Alliance Group from
their Premier Plus Range Decals focuses on the USN Bloodhounds F-4. There
are
decals for one special F-4 Phamtom. This particular jet didn't
have stenciling in the reference photos supplied for this decal sheet, so no
stencils are included on this decal sheet. You can get the
stencils from another decal sheet if you choose to display your F-4 with
stencils.
The decals
themselves are beautiful quality and very clearly printed on the 1/72
sample I have before me (scan above does not show the the sharpness
of these decals). Colours look solid and will cover very well, but
the decals also don't appear overly thick and complicated decals are
printed in multiple layers to ensure perfect registration. Clear film is minimal and tapers
down nicely to the edge of the decal.
The paint scheme
is Dark Ghost Compass Grey FS 36375 on top and Light Ghost Compass Grey FS 36320
with the usual natural metal shades around the engine exhausts and
tail. In front of the windscreen is a flat black anti-glare
panel. The national insignia and jet intake warning triangles are
lo-viz grey with the aircraft number,
