Here is my Messerschmitt Bf 110-E from Eduard in 1:48.
The reason I built a Bf 110 in a Dessert scheme is because it is very seldom
that I see this model in these colors.
Here I have to say, that this is not a typical desert Airplane because any filters for
the trop version are missing. It seems that the
"Luftwaffe" had to react quickly of the allied attacks to axis transport ships
for the "Afrikakorps".

I also used foto etch parts from Eduard (49385) and MG 17, exhausts, pilots stick,
rear gun, Revi from
Quickboost, and a MG 15 from Aires to built this "Zerstörers".
The interior sections were brushed, like always, in RLM02 and I washed them with dark
oil colors. The sticks, buttons and other areas were colored like original pictures.
The fitting of the fuselage and engine cowls to the Wings was awful!
I had more than a one mm gap and had to use a lot of sheet and putty to fill these gaps. Of course I had to
rescribe any details again!
The Bf 110E had not only a heating flap on the nose, also on starboard behind the gunner. Also there was a plate on the starboard engine to be sure that there comes no exhaust to the air intake. Both is not included into this
model, although it should be a "E" variant….
Also a corselet for the pilot was not included which I scratch built from sheet.
As always I began with pre-shading the
Model in a dark gray.
After that I brushed the basic colors RLM 78/79 from Gunze on the upper and underside.
A one colored airplane like this one has to have shade on every detail to avoid
a boring colored model.
After decalling the complete model was filtered to get a light used scheme of the Decals
Concluding the small parts, brake lines exhaust gas and dirty were assembled on the finished Model.
