Basic kit is Tamiya 1/48 Fw 190 D9, added items are FM engine and gun bays. The cockpit is from Cooper Details (nice one Roy!). A few scratchbuilt open panels have also been added.
The markings are from a Kommandeur Decal sheet; it was this decal sheet that inspired me to make the model. The general colour scheme is something slightly different....most of the fuselage was left in bare primer although the engine cowlings were camouflaged. Also, the underside of the wings were left in natural-metal and the aircraft also had a replacement tail unit ( Ta 152 ?? ). The standard kit tail was modified to replicate this. Overall, an Fw 190 that is slightly different.
The model was airbrushed in Xtracolour. (The thinners for this was 75% enamel thinners to 25% cellulose thinners; the cellulose makes the paint dry very quick, although if you spray it on too heavy it dissolves kit plastic!). Neil Burkill
