1/48 Academy P-38E Lightning

I'm sending you photos of my P-38E Lightning. It's an academy kit in 1/48th scale. I built it out of the box with the kit decals.  The only thing I did was to rig copper wires to represent the antennae wires.

I used Tamiya's Olive Drab and Neutral Grey Enamels and after the decaling job was done, I sprayed a coat of Gunze's Super Clear Lacquer. Then I used some other colors like Olive Green, Khaki... and I brushed them with much thinner to give the aircraft a worn look.

Chipping was done with a tiny brush and Model Master Chrome Silver Paint. I tried to keep the silver paint areas as small as possible.

And a small secret....I used AA batteries as a weight to keep the nose down. They are installed in both booms.
