Here is my superdetailed Ju 52/3m g 4e. First I started with the excellent Revell Ju-52 kit # 04519. From there I started to acquire all the resin and PE bits to complete the project.

Interior - Cockpit
First came the interior. For the interior I used the CMK 4043 - Ju 52/3m interior Detail set upgraded with Aires (main panel) from the Aires resin set #4078 - Ju 52/3m cockpit set. Then I added the Eduard set #48286 - Ju 52/3m. This Eduard set includes many detail items from the usual PE cockpit pieces (including 3 different instrument panels) to some detail parts for the tail gear and even wiring for all 3 engines.

Interior - Cargo Area
The Ju-52 was originally "designed" as a passenger airliner, but it's ability to carry cargo and troops quickly became apparent after the outbreak of war in Sept '39. I of course detailed the whole interior with a combination of painting, washes and drybrushing. In the interior I used umbra oil to darken the detail.

Main Landing Gear
I had some problems with the main landing gear legs.....seems they are not the same length. Go figure.

Exteroir Details
I like CMK products and I used 3 of their sets on this particular model alone.

  1. CMK 4044 - Ju 52/3m Engine set

  2. CMK 4061 - Ju 52/3m Exterior set

Engines
The black exhaust stains are made by airbrushing with Tamiya flat black. The wiring for the engines in the Eduard set has two wires in front of the cylinder and in the CMK Engine set (3 beautiful BMW 132 engines) has wiring with one wire in front of the cylinder and one at the back. I have used the "CMK version".

Here's a good top view of the areas of the plane I did my best to add detail to.

I'm pleased to say my "Tante Ju" model is just finished (2nd place IPMS Czech 2001).   For Decals I used some from Third Group (decal sheet #48-055) (only one!! decal on engine cover). The masks for the fuselage crosses with letters made by Svetly de.sign. I also used Eduard Express mask for the wing and tail crosses, because all the insignia including the code letters were airbrushed ! !

This photo shows the subtle effect of the two different shades of green I used.
